FAQs

Q.  The Moist-Sure Shields are not touching my face. Does this mean my eyes aren’t receiving the right amount of moisture?
A.  That’s the beauty of MEGS. They DO NOT need to completely enclose the eye area to create and sustain the moisture level needed to keep your eyes lubricated and comfortable. Most MEGS wearers will find that their MEGS rest lightly on the cheeks and around the sides with a slight gap below the brows. Of course the fit will vary according to face shape.

Q.  What if my Moist-Sure Shields become damaged?
A.  You can order replacement Moist-Sure Shields online.

Q.  Can I store my MEGS in any eyeglass case?
A.  The black SEEFIT case your MEGS came in is the best place to store them. If that is not available, be sure the case is large enough so as not to damage or the Moist-Sure Shields when closed.

Q.  Can MEGS accommodate high/complex prescriptions, such as –10 myope, astigmatism?
A.  In most cases, yes. We recommend the prescription be filled using a “high index” lens that will reduce the thickness and the weight of the lens. There are a few rare exceptions where a prescription can’t be accommodated by a high index lens and a customization of the lenses by a skilled optician in your local area.  We can also refer you if you prefer.

Q.   I have a broad nasal bridge. Anything I can do?
A.  Removing the plastic nose piece should make for a more comfortable fit . Doing this will not affect the efficacy or functionality of your MEGS.

Q.  My MEGS have a tendency to slip. Are they too big for me?
A.  Probably not. The actual size difference between the three groups of MEGS (men, women, unisex) is not much, so it’s possible you just need to have them tightened by an optician. Alternatively, a lanyard can be used for a snugger fit. If you still feel they’re too loose, to a  SEEFIT team member will be happy to assist you.

Q.  My MEGS feel too tight. Are they too small for me?
A.  Try removing the nose piece for a roomier, more comfortable fit or you may need a larger frame i.e. the men’s version.
